Logo created for “The Salon”- the pattern behind the logo references the wallpaper used in the real life salon the production is based upon, and also is repeated in the set design throughout the show. The logo is a nod to both the aesthetic of a salon and that of a musical production, emphasizing the spotlight nature of both.
Artwork created for “The Salon”. The Writer/Director wanted to capture the feeling of the salon as a safe, intimate space- and one important to culture and self worth. Each bottle was also specifically designed for the salon - and can be seen in the large scale lobby decor. This show was described by the writer/director as “A Love Song to my sister and The Salon” - an idea which permeated every aspect of digital and print collateral.
A "teaser" created for "The Salon" to drum up excitement and capture the energy of the production.
We wanted to feature the unique hairstyles specific to Black Culture and celebrities who don them.
We printed the designs and hung them around the lobby of the theater, giving the impression of celebration and focus on important figures and style.
